This is a very brief, very European perspective. Because the Native American people used oral traditions to pass down their history. I will research further into this, I just wanted to get something down at least for now. There will be amendments made…
Norse Exploration (Circa 1075)
Referred to in Norse texts it is believed to have been discovered by Europeans around 1075
New Colonies (1492-1754)
Christopher Columbus’s voyage in 1492 led to European exploration of the Americas, with subsequent Spanish claims in the Caribbean and south-eastern North America.
The English established their first permanent colony in North America in 1607 at Jamestown, Virginia, marking the start of British settlement.
The first African slaves were brought to Virginia in 1619
The Thirteen Colonies grew, along the Atlantic coast
Revolution (1754–1793)
Revolts against the English started and the states became independent on July 2, 1776. This was recognised by the British in 1782
The Early Republic (1793–1830)
The expansion of democracy, territorial growth, and increasing tensions over issues like states’ rights and slavery.
The American Civil War (1861–1865)
Northern (Union) vs Southern (Confederate) states war over state rights and slavery. Union won and slavery was abolished
Wars and Depression (1917-1945)
America joined WWI in 1917 which ended in 1918. It fell into an economic depression in 1929
Cold War (1945-1991)
A war of espionage between the US and USSR that lasted until the end of the Soviet Union. The moon landings took place during this time in 1969
